Nataraj and Venkat Architects were entrusted with the construction of the Arts & Crafts Block and the 67-step slope, undertaking the work with a conservation-led approach that respected the established architectural character and landscape of the historic campus. The intervention sought to carefully integrate contemporary structural, functional and service requirements while retaining the scale, proportions, material character and visual continuity of the existing institution. Rather than introducing a contrasting architectural language, the work reinforces the identity of the campus through sensitive detailing and contextual design, allowing the historic school to continue evolving while preserving its architectural and cultural legacy.
